Listen to the interview of The Rhymlicks with Lance Stinson of M4Radio.
Welcome to the home of “The Rhymlicks”. We’re just two guys from Central Indiana (The Fly-over Zone) that like to make music. We don’t play live together anywhere. Maybe someday... We just make music in the cellar. We call it ‘The Hole’. We hope you like our works!
The Rhymlicks are Andrew Vaughn, age 24, and Darrin DeBard, age 40. We are both drummers usually, but hack around on all instruments (or anything that makes noise). Darrin creates most of the music and Drew writes and spits the lyrics. We both hit the skins. We use digital Rolands in the cellar A.K.A ‘The Hole’. We record using PC based recording tools and Darrin uses Fender and Ibanez guitars, a cheap Yamaha PSR292 keyboard and an Oxygen8 midi man USB midi trigger to generate software based midi sounds of all kinds of instruments.
At this site, you will find the audio samples of our first CD, ‘Out of the Hole’. It is a mix of rocked up techno sounds with Drew singing and spittin’ RAP. At the time of this recording, all Darrin had was a SoundBlaster Live Platinum card, it actually turned out pretty good using it. However, since then he purchased a MAudio Delta-1010 24k/96khz 10 channel digital recording interface, so the sound should be even better on the next CD.
Feel free to browse around this site. If you have comments or questions about the site or songs, simply contact us via email or engage us in our forums. We also like to collaborate with anyone and everyone that likes to write music or can play an instrument. So don’t be shy! If you are local to our area and would like to join us in writing some tunes just email us at therhymlicks@meyvnrecords.com and come visit ‘The Hole’ to make some noise. Oh... BTW, leave the Ego at home! ;) If your not local that’s no problem either as long as you have a way of sending stereo tracks back and forth with us over the internet. We look forward to jamming with you!
Browse the site and drop us a note. We like feedback from all! Positive or Negative
